Lucky for us, there are way too many great podcasts out there by Black creators to include in one post. But as someone who depends on podcasts to get through everything from my morning workout to my evening commute, I thought I’d use this opportunity to show my faves a little love.

Whether you’re into true crime, politics, pop culture, or just want to get a good laugh, there is something for everyone. These are some of my favorite Black podcasts these days. But I’m always looking for more. If you’ve got a favorite you think I should be listening to, drop it in the comments.

The Stoop

On The Stoop, hosts Hana Baba and Leila Day talk about everything from foods that are used to stereotype Black people to our personal relationship with our booties. The use professional reporting and leading experts to help provide different perspectives on what it means to be Black. You never know what they’ll cover next.

Black Girl Film Club

Black Girl Film Club, is exactly what it sounds like – a space for Black girls to talk about all things movies. From Roll, Bounce to Nope, hosts Britney and Ashley bring their unique perspective to dissect films from past to present.

Bravo While Black

If you like the Real Housewives, you’ll love Bravo While Black. They talk about everything from the fashions to the drama from their favorite reality shows. If you don’t have time to watch them all, this show has you covered.

Larry Wilmore: Black on the Air

On Larry Wilmore: Black on the Air, the comedian covers politics, entertainment, sports and more in the most hilarious way. He interviews guests from every corner of our culture and breaks down the issues that have people talking.

Forties AF

As a woman of a certain age, Forties AF just speaks to me. It’s a fictional drama podcast about three forty-something single friends who are trying to navigate the world now that they’ve left their 30s behind.

Scam Goddess

Scam Goddess describes itself as “a podcast dedicated to the art of fraud.” Host Laci Mosley puts some of the grimiest scammers in the game on blast with a little help from some pretty funny comedians.

The Read

Kid Fury and Crissle will keep you cracking up on The Read, a hilarious podcast all about pop culture. But this ain’t a show for the kiddos. No topic is off limits and there’s bound to be some explicit language in each episode – but that’s what makes it so much fun.

The Right Time With Bomani Jones

You don’t have to be a sports fan to love The Right Time With Bomani Jones. Hosts Bomani Jones and Domonique Foxworth break down the latest in the world of sports with a sprinkle of pop culture and more in a smart, hilarious way.

Dope Labs

I came across the Dope Labs podcast by accident. And now it’s about the only thing that can get me interested in science. BFFs Zakiya and Titi (who also happen to be scientists) break down everything from the real deal on COVID to the science of shape wear. Their amazing on-air chemistry makes it feel less like a science class and more like a good time with your girls.

For Colored Nerds

Hosts Brittany and Eric discuss all things culture from a Black perspective on For Colored Nerds. In each episode, they give their smart, funny, and of course nerdy perspective on everything from Beyoncé’s latest album to fast fashion’s impact on climate change.

Therapy for Black Girls

Therapy for Black Girls is the place for women of color who are looking for a space to talk about mental health and personal development. Atlanta-based psychologist and host Dr. Joy Harden Bradford shares interviews and information designed to help listeners be the best version of themselves. Past episodes have focused on cultivating friendships as an adult and diet culture.

Brown Ambition

If you’re looking to get your money right, check out the Brown Ambition podcast. Hosts personal finance expert and journalist Mandi Woodruff and financial educator Tiffany “The Budgetnista” Aliche give listeners their best advice on making smart financial choices and building wealth.

Black Chick Lit

So many great books were written by Black women. And Black Chick Lit is here to talk about them all. In each episode, hosts Dani and Mollie talk about books by and for Black women while drinking wine and having fun.

Gettin Grown

If you cringe at the thought of grown ass topics like homeownership and self care, you need the Gettin Grown podcast. Thirtysomething hosts Keia and Jade break down what you need to know and make adulting seem a lot less scary.

Dope Black Mums

Dope Black Mums is the perfect podcast for moms looking to find their tribe. This parenting podcast from the UK is a safe space to talk about the good, the bad, and the exhausting of Black motherhood. Somehow everything sounds better with a British accent.

Wizard Team

If you ever wished your Harry Potter discussion group was just a little bit Blacker, Wizard Team is the place for you. Hosts Bayana Davis and Robyn Jordan dissect the popular book series, pointing out obscure facts and analyzing what ifs. Although there aren’t any new episodes, Potterheads will definitely find it binge worthy.

Getting Animated

On the Getting Animated podcast, host Destiny Senpai talks about all things anime from a Black perspective. If you love the genre, you definitely want to hear what she has to say.

No Shade

Nothing is off limits on the No Shade podcast out of the UK. Whether they’re talking about social issues or whether or not hoodies are appropriate for church, hosts and friends @AkuaAubrey_ and @MyOwnRoyalty always get a little cheeky.

Grapsody

Wrestling fans have no excuse not to know the latest happenings in the WWE, AEW and more. The Grapsody podcast from Fightful is the Blackest podcast about the sport out there.

Bad Faith

Briahna Joy Gray, former National Press Secretary for Bernie Sanders, and her co-host Virgil Texas dish about political issues on Bad Faith, a super smart left-leaning political podcast.
