There’s nothing like seeing your favorite Black celeb up close and personal during their concerts–but sometimes, fans can take things way too far. Just ask singer Ne-Yo who had a shocking albeit hilarious interaction during a concert here recently.

As you may have seen in the now viral clip, while performing in Japan, a fan decided he wanted to be a part of the action and rushed on the stage to accompany the “Because of You” singer. Naturally, after being taken off-guard by the encounter, Ne-Yo responded in kind and shoved him offstage.
Later, he hopped on social media to respond to all the chatter, saying in part: “This is what you DON’T do. I’m a gentleman but I WILL slap the sh*t out of a person disrespecting my stage. And then keep the party going. Don’t try me. All love, til it’s not.”
Seeing all the hubub surrounding that clip made us think back though to the countless times other fans have taken similar action. While some of these incidents ended in harmless hugs or are turned around for the better, others have almost gotten downright dangerous and left security teams scrambling.
So we thought we’d take a look at some of the most chaotic fan interactions where they crashed performances and more. Trust us when we say, this is truly some wild stuff!
Ne-Yo
As we told you, the night arguably went from good to bad for this overly eager fan. But honestly, how easy it it for you to just enjoy the concert from the comfort of your own seat??
Trey Songz
This viral fan moment with Trey Songz from earlier this year still cracks some folks up, but it was clearly no laughing matter for the “Love Faces” singer as he was definitely ready to square up with this person!
Beyoncé
It may have been at this moment that Beyonce decided to never tour in Brazil for a long time and honestly, we can’t blame her! This fan nearly pulled her off the stage entirely–that’s doing too much!!
Drake
You already know when Drake asked “y’all not doing security out here?” that was code for “somebody’s about to get fired because how in the hell did y’all let this random white kid get this close to me?”
Lil Baby
This interaction was one of the worst ones we’ve seen. Like, yeah sure the guy shouldn’t have made his way up there with Lil Baby. But the way he was flung off the stage was so hard and fast, we just know he regrets this moment for life.
Nicki Minaj
Even before Nicki Minaj’s Barbz became the strong fanbase as they’re known to be nowadays, their love for their fearless leader was still strong as evidenced by this old video of Minaj and a hella excited fan from years ago.
Michael Jackson
One of the more iconic fan crashing moments is no doubt when the late Michael Jackson was performing in Asia and a fan somehow and miraculously made his way onto the rising stage with him. Shoutout to Jackson for pulling double duty that night–performing his song without missing a note and making sure that impromptu fan was safe.
Lil Uzi Vert
Another interaction that thankfully had a positive end to it, after a fan rushed onstage during a Lil Uzi Vert concert, the rapper decided to hold off from security hauling him away and instead took a selfie with the fan. Talk about being a man of the people, even though his own safety could’ve been at risk.
Wizkid
We all know Afrobeats inspires you to want to move but moving so fast that you hop onstage while Wizkid is performing is taking the bit a bit too far.
Gunna
Much like Lil Uzi, Gunna used his influence to make sure his fans know he loves them–even if it means taking time out of his concert to keep respectfully put an excited fan in his place while still allowing him to enjoy the moment.
Kanye West
This one is lowkey shocking considering how close this fan got to Kanye West and how many people were seemingly down on the floor with him. Though West played it cool, this is still kind of scary.
Travis Scott
Travis Scott flipped this entire interaction on the head when after a fan made his way to him onstage, he berated security for not being fast enough to catch him and decided to instead let him rock out with him. That was a good night for that fan but a horrible night for those security guards who probably didn’t clock int he next day.
Honorable Mention: Lil Mama, Jay-Z and Alicia Keys
OK, OK, we know Lil Mama is also a fellow celeb, but her crashing Jay-Z and Alicia Keys’ performance at the 2009 VMA’s is one of the most legendary moments ever. The conviction in her face, the fact that Beyoncé tried to stop her, the confused look on Jay-Z’s face? It’s all a masterpiece that will no doubt go down in pop culture history!
