Disturbing Racial Incidents That Occurred After The Election

America has always been in turmoil–and things just continue to get worse.

Donald Trump managed to secure a second presidential term earlier this month after defeating Vice President Kamala Harris in a tight race. Since then, a slew of racial incidents have happened—with many people believing Trump’s victory served as a catalyst. Here is a list of the most disturbing ones.

A Capitol Police intelligence assessment obtained by ABC News warned of the possibility of increased threats to government officials following the 2024 presidential election. The report outlined the “likelihood of violence and civil unrest” around the 2025 electoral vote certification process as well the presidential inauguration. In 2021, Trump supporters attacked the Capitol insisting that President Biden had lost—which was discovered to be untrue.

N-Word On The Senate Floor

White supremacist Avi Rachlin shamelessly dropped the N-word during a Michigan Senate committee hearing on Thursday (Nov. 14). The slur was used after he falsely said lawmakers were attacking the gun rights of white people following President-elect Donald Trump’s win.

Trump Ally Threatens Letitia James

Earlier this month, Trump ally Mike Davis—a former Supreme Court clerk and Senate aide—threatened New York Attorney General Letitia James with prison. His words were a vicious attack on a Black woman, which underscored the mindset of Trump’s associates.

“I dare you to continue your lawfare against President Trump in his second term. Because listen here sweetheart, we’re not messing around this time. And we will put your fat ass in prison for conspiracy against rights,” Davis said according to The Independent.

Misinformation Targeted Black Folks

AI technology and disinformation campaigns affected the decisions voters made in the 2024 election, and affected Black people disproportionately. A report published by the Onyx Impact claimed half a dozen core online networks were “reaching or targeting” Black Americans online with false and misleading narratives, possibly impacting 41 million Americans.

After Trump was deemed victorious, several red states—including Iowa—were researching how to change their vote on Google.

On Nov. 16, a group of neo-Nazis took to the streets of Columbus, Ohio waving flags covered in red swastikas and screaming the N-word. Nearly a dozen people participated in the stunt, sporting black pants, shirts and coverings that hid their faces.

The day after Trump won the election, horrible text messages were sent to several Black folks across the country that told them to prepare to go to a plantation and pick cotton.

Following the slew of anti-Black texts after Trump’s victory, the FBI has released a statement about their investigation of the messages on its website. It explained that it “is aware of the offensive and racist text messages sent to individuals around the country and is in contact with the Justice Department and other federal authorities on the matter.”

Shortly after Trump once again secured the White House, a video resurfaced from 2023 in which he said part of his woke war was to give an endowment to white people who were “hurt” by DEI policies—which he considers a form of anti-white discrimination.

“Your Body, My Choice”

The phrase “your body, my choice” was trending after Trump’s presidential victory and was coined by white supremacist Nick Fuentes. With Trump packing the Supreme Court with conservative justices to overturn Roe v. Wade, the attack on women’s bodies will continue during his second term. Of course, this will have more dire consequences for Black women.

Trump’s latest Cabinet picks include Pete Hegseth for secretary of defense, Tulsi Gabbard for director of national intelligence and Matt Gaetz for attorney general—all of whom have disparaged diversity, equity and inclusion policies as racially divisive.

Racist Attack On London Mayor

On the High Performance podcast before America’s election, Sadiq Khan—the Mayor of London—said Donald Trump has consistently criticized him because Trump is racist. He also called Trump’s policies “sexist, homophobic, Islamophobic, racist.”

“It’s personal, let’s be frank. If I wasn’t this colour skin, if I wasn’t a practising Muslim, he wouldn’t have come for me,” Khan said. “He wasn’t coming for me because I’m five foot six. He’s coming for me for – let’s be frank – my ethnicity and my religion, so it’s incredibly personal to me.”

Buffalo Bills Fana ‘Lynch’ A Puppet

On Nov. 17, Buffalo Bills fans took things a step too far with an anti-Patrick Mahomes stunt ahead of the team’s game against the Kansas City Chiefs. The Bills Mafia (as they are often called) dressed a Kermit the Frog doll as Patrick Mahomes— Number 15 jersey and all — and hung it from a pole outside the stadium.

Donald Trump Jr. Praises Blonde Hair, Blue-Eyed Miss Universe

On November 16, blonde hair, blue-eyed Victoria Kjaer Theilvig’s was crowned as Miss Universe 2024. Donald Trump Jr. and other MAGA supporters deemed the victory as a win against “woke” ideology. Trump Jr. reacted by writing on X (formerly Twitter) “Biological & objectively attractive women are allowed to win beauty pageants again. WE ARE SO BACK.” Theilvig, who was representing Denmark, beat out Miss Nigeria and Miss Mexico.
