As we previously told you, Cardi became the talk of the timelines in July 2023 while performing at Drai’s Nightclub in Las Vegas. During a moment in her set as seen in a now-viral clip, a fan threw a cup of water at the rapper while she was on stage. This resulted in Cardi throwing her microphone at the phone and going off about the disrespect.

In the immediate aftermath, a woman who claimed she was standing next to the drink thrower said Cardi’s mic hit her as well and she ended up going to the local authorities about it. However, just three days later, Las Vegas Police said that the “Bodak Yellow” superstar wouldn’t be facing any charges.

Now, it looks Cardi will in fact be facing some charges, specifically assault, battery, and negligence from the Jane Doe who claims she got hit. Per court documents obtained by TMZ on Thursday, Doe is alleging that the “Up” rapper asked for fans to throw water on her private parts to help her cool down from the hot, summer performance. They also said that the DJ also encouraged fans to “splash her down” as well.

Well, according to Doe, she was just doing what the rapper was asked so she doesn’t understand why she ended up getting assaulted with the microphone. As a result, she’s seeking for some sort of recompense.

While Cardi hasn’t officially responded to this new suit, she did speak out not too long after the incident, saying that she didn’t “want to look [like] that ghetto bitch,” according to Page Six.

“I said splash my p*ssy, not my face, b*tch,” Cardi reportedly said per the outlet.

Additionally, the microphone itself ended up getting auctioned off for $99,900 with the proceeds split between to Las Vegas charities: the Wounded Warrior Project and Friendship Circle Las Vegas.

Once the news of the suit hit the social media streets, folks online didn’t think it stood that much of a chance.

“That lady is going to lose that case against Cardi B. How are you suing someone after you threw something at them. Cardi was only defending herself,” wrote one user on X/Twitter.

“You’re gonna sue me bc you did something to me first and i responded??” another user questioned.

Added another: “So Cardi B is being sued for throwing something at someone that threw something at her first. Ok.”
