Trump Addresses Death Rumors While Shading a Former President

Donald Trump already posted he’s “never felt better,” but he’s dismissing pesky death rumors again… this time namedropping a former president.

Over the weekend, rumors President Donald Trump had died went viral and even topped Google searches. He already posted how well he’s feeling online and was pictured at the White House Saturday, but now, he’s dismissing those death rumors again… but not without a few side comments about former President Joe Biden.

President Trump officially returned to the public eye Tuesday (Sept. 2) during a White House press conference. He announced a new US Space Command headquarters location, explained how he’s preparing to send the National Guard to Chicago… and addressed that “big viral social media trend over the weekend” that he had kicked the bucket.

“How did you find out over the weekend that you were dead,” one man off-camera asked. “Did you see that?,” he added, before the president answered “No.” The man off-camera continued, “1.3 million user engagements as of Saturday morning about your demise.” Trump didn’t mince words replying.

“Really? I have heard, it’s sorta crazy— but last week I did numerous news conferences. All successful, they went very well like this is going very well,” Trump began. “And then I didn’t do any for two days then they said, ‘There must be something wrong with him.’ [Joe] Biden wouldn’t do ’em for months, you wouldn’t see him! And nobody ever said there was anything wrong with him and we know that he wasn’t in the greatest of shape.” His comments drew laughter from those standing around him, including Vice President JD Vance.

Concerns about Biden’s health increased over the latter years of his presidency, especially during his re-election campaign in 2024 before handing over the reigns to then-Vice President Kamala Harris. It was announced he was diagnosed with prostate cancer (that has spread to his bones) in May, and before that he was seen stumbling on stairs and being seemingly confused during speeches, most notably his “incohernet” debate performance in June 2024.

But some folks say Trump should worry about his own bill of health. The White House announced the president had been diagnosed with chronic venous insufficiency (CVI), a condition where the veins in the lower legs become damaged, leading to poor blood flow back to the heart, per the Cleveland Clinic. In 2018, a coronary CT calcium scan revealed that Trump also has a form of heart disease “like most men of his age,” CNN reported at the time. Previously circulating images of him with bruises on his hands and swollen legs also went viral.

Trump, who became the oldest president at the time of swearing in January, first addressed rumors he had died on Truth Social, writing how he, ““NEVER FELT BETTER IN MY LIFE,” the New York Post reported. During his Oval Office press conference Tuesday, he maintained how he “was very active over the weekend” and called reports of him being ill all “fake.”
