So what did it take to receive an honorary degree from Brown? Of course the school couldnโt write, โBecause โblack girls rockโโย on the doctorate, so it gave another reason.
โIn my degree, it says I was honored because of my โgrace, talent and strong sense of self โฆ work that combines detailed knowledge of human nature with boldness โฆ a passion for facilitating self-expression and broadening the definition of what is beautiful โฆ dedication to helping others, particularly teenage girls, find their inner strength, confidence and pathways to satisfaction โฆ creating common ground with women of all backgrounds. โฆ And a continued desire to push the boundaries of imagination,โโ Ross wrote.
Ross isnโt the only Brown graduate in her family. Her sister, Rhonda Ross, graduated in 1993.
