Remember one of the members of The Chainsmokers accused T.I. of punching them in the face? Well, the “King of the South” took to social media to address the allegation.
In a video posted to Instagram, the Atlanta rapper confirmed the allegation and said he did in fact punch Andrew “Drew” Taggart of The Chainsmokers in the face.
He can be heard saying in the video, “First of all, I Love The Chainsmokers, they make great music, you know… It’s really not much more to the story that you’ve already heard.”
He continued, “I think the most important thing to take away is afterward, we had a drink, we took a shot, and we moved on, you know? Loving the party, having a good time.”
Throughout the video, T.I. couldn’t help laugh and giggle a little.
Tip wanted to clarify there was no malice between the two parties and that he’s a fan of the EDM duo. He even invited the group to appear on his podcast, ExpediTIously.
In a TikTok uploaded to the EDM’s group’s account, Alexander Pall and Andrew Taggart document their time at a nightclub with T.I.
Titled “When meeting T.I. goes wrong,” the video shows the duo having a good night out at the club. At one point in the clip, you see Taggart and the Atlanta rapper take a picture together.
It then cuts to Taggart saying, “T.I. just literally punched me in the face. We’re in a vibe and I, like, gave him a kiss on the cheek — it was totally my fault. He was like, ‘Don’t do that.’ And I was like, ‘OK.’ He pushed me off and I was like, ‘Alright, my bad’ … And he was like, ‘Alright cool, we’re good.’ It was the weirdest interaction ever.”
He continues, “First of all, T.I. is fully in the right here. I was feeling the vibes way too hard and I kissed T.I. on the cheek. And he punched me in the face for it! It’s fully fine.”
Since all is good between the two and they both found it comical, I hope The Chainsmokers hop on T.I.’s podcast and discuss the hilarious incident in length.
