A small group of protesters converged on West Florissant Avenue in Ferguson, Mo., Tuesday to continue the effort to bring attention and resolution to the shooting death of unarmed teen Michael Brown by Ferguson Police Officer Darren Wilson.

The protest comes after reports that a memorial to Brown caught fire Tuesday, which upset many on social media. Fire officials have speculated that the blaze may have been caused by candles set too close to flammable items like teddy bears and signage.
According to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, as many as 200 people crowded the busy street that had become the hub of protests for the better part of August. Windows were smashed at one business, and reports of gunfire were called in to police, who arrived on the scene and began blocking off the street. The Post-Dispatch notes that no one was hit in the shooting and it was unclear who fired the shots.
Missouri Highway Patrol Capt. Ronald S. Johnson, St. Louis County Police Chief Jon Belmar and St. Louis Police Chief Sam Dotson all reported to the scene until the crowd eventually thinned to less than 75 people before midnight, the Post-Dispatch reports.
