“See, what had happened was ...” is a staple phrase in black households that typically proceeds a preposterous explanation for questionable behavior.

But since Abimbola “Abel” and Olabinjo “Ola” Osundairo—the Nigerian-American siblings involved in the allegedly bogus attack on the self-proclaimed “gay 2Pac” Jussie Smollet—aren’t in a position to further incriminate the Empire star who’s facing felony charges for allegedly orchestrating his own MAGA-inspired beatdown, they’ve decided to issue a public, “See what had happened was ...” through their attorney without actually telling us what had happened—a conveniently vague apology, if you will.

According to People, the Osundairo brothers are overcome with “tremendous regret” for their involvement in their poorly executed scheme, while the rest of are wondering why in the hell they pulled this shit during Black History Month.

“My clients have tremendous regret over their involvement in this situation,” their statement to CBS Chicago read. “And they understand how it has impacted people across the nation, particularly minority communities and especially those who have been victims of hate crimes themselves.”

While it’s not looking good for their boy Jussie—who’s spent the aftermath of this debacle being removed from the final two episodes of this season of Empire, being blasted by the gay, black, white, and MAGA communities for his baffling actions, and being slapped with a felony charge for filing a false police report and disorderly conduct—his legal team has maintained its commitment to an “aggressive defense” in fighting the charge.

“Mr. Smollett is a young man of impeccable character and integrity who fiercely and solemnly maintains his innocence and feels betrayed by a system that apparently wants to skip due process and proceed directly to sentencing,” his attorneys said in a statement.

Meanwhile, we’re still waiting for Jussie’s “See, what had happened was ...”

I understand the brothers are fitness “trainers” but is there a photo of them with shirts on? LMAO.

Also, all the smart people who were skeptical about this entire scenario/situation from the start, deserve an apology.

I said what I said.
