Rapper and producer Yung Joc continued his follicular adventures last weekend, following up a series of increasingly unexpected lewks with an actual piece of art razored into his acid green-tipped, cornrowed updo: a Juice-era portrait of Tupac Shakur.

The hair art was the creation of Rob the Original, the self-proclaimed “not your average barber,” whose highly detailed, true-to-life work has also been created using sand, wood stains, tortillas, and even watermelon. True to Rob’s 3D style, Joc’s portrait—which he crowdsourced for suggestions beforehand, as well as hosting a meet-and-greet for JocLive—came complete with a high top fade with asymmetrical part, and even nose and ear studs.

It’s apparently all in a day’s work for Rob, who has created outlandish yet fascinatingly detailed hair portraits of a fully-fro’d Snoop Dogg, painter (and childhood idol) Bob Ross, and a dreadlocked Bob Marley, among many others.

The hair-on-hair effect is pretty meta, but what’s more intriguing is whether anticipation for Joc’s next hairstyle has eclipsed any anticipation for new music. Maybe this is his new career path (since he’s claimed to have leveraged any smack-talking into a well-strategized publicity stunt)? Who knows—though he’d be far from the first musician to use dramatic hair changes to keep us looking (Exhibit A: Rihanna). At any rate, it’s low-key entertaining as hell, so we’ll just keep enjoying his antics while they last.
