William Pate, a high school senior at Ben Davis High School in Indianapolis, reached out to Bryant via Twitter with a full-court heave: If the Black Mamba would retweet his ask, then the whole class wouldn’t have to take their final exam. Pate even included a photo of him and his teacher shaking on the deal, ESPN reports.
And then something magical happened: Black Mamba—who, as ESPN notes, has 11.5 million followers who tweet him all day—not only saw the tweet but retweeted it.
