Following Fridayโs release of the first trailer, Prince Harry and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex wasted no time revealing more details about their upcoming Netflix doc. Per Variety, Harry & Meghan is a six-episode docuseries that will be split into two parts, with the first three episodes released Dec. 8 and the second volume hitting watchlists on Dec. 15.
We also got a second trailer and this one had a lot more footage from the project. The video features clips of the media frenzy surrounding the couple, starting with stories about their cute romance before, as Harry says, โEverything changed.โ Explaining the rash of negative stories about Meghan, the prince states, โThereโs a hierarchy in the family. You know, thereโs leaking, but thereโs also planting of stories.โ Later in the teaser, Meghan, who we assume is talking about the royal family says, โI realized, โTheyโre never gonna protect you.โโ
As heโs done in other interviews, the Duke of Sussex confirmed that he was afraid his wife would suffer the same tragic fate as his mother Diana, Princess of Wales. โI was terrified. I didnโt want history to repeat itself,โ Harry said.
While the first trailer was very tame, only dropping minor hints about what to expect, this one basically screams โweโre about to spill all the secrets.โ In fact, the video ends with Harry telling viewers, โNo one knows the full truth. We know the full truth.โ
Harry & Meghan premieres on Netflix on Dec. 8 and 15.

The long-awaited Netflix documentary from Prince Harry and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex has finally released its first footage and itโs pretty normal. If you were looking for messy drama and spilled tea right out of the gate, Iโm sorry, youโre gonna have to wait a little longer.
According to Variety, Liz Garbus (What Happened, Miss Simone?) directs Harry & Meghan, โan intimate account of the coupleโs courtshipโand unprecedented access to their tumultuous years as senior royals.โ
The trailer features a montage of sweet, romantic photos chronicling the coupleโs relationship, before transitioning into what everyone really came for. When Harry is asked why they did this project, he responds, โNo one knows whatโs happening behind closed doors.โ The prince is also seen in a sit-down interview segment saying, โI had to do everything I could to protect my family.โ During her own interview moment, Meghan looks directly at the camera and states, โWhen the stakes are this high, doesnโt it make more sense to hear our story from us?โ
Considering how much rumor and speculation surrounds The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, I am very interested to hear their story directly from them. Will some things be glossed over? Possibly. I canโt really say until the documentary airs. However, Iโm sure that whatever the tabloids have been printing all these years is very far from the truth.
From the moment their relationship became public, the couple has been under a never-ending amount of pressure and scrutiny, much of it marked by racist attacks against Meghan from British media. The endless harassment and dangerous threats eventually led Harry and Meghan to resign from their posts as senior royals in 2020. Since then, they have lived in the U.S., continued their charity work and produced projects with Netflix.
Netflix hasnโt announced a premiere date for Harry & Meghan but in the meantime, on her podcast Archetypes, the duchess has revealed more about her life in the royal family, describing the difficulties that come with being a Black woman from a regular background in an institution built on centuries of strict tradition.
