In addition to losing a rap battle against Kendrick Lamar, on Monday, one Drakeβs other worst nightmares came true...and itβs all thanks to Charlamagne tha God. Iβll explain.
You see, on Monday morningβs episode of βThe Breakfast Club,β the popular radio host and personality reignited talks of the Canadian rapper and the petitions he filed against his label UMG on Nov. 26 (and Lamar by extension) for conspiring to conflate streaming numbers and defamation for Lamarβs summer hit/diss track βNot Like Us.β

When the news broke out that he filed, Drake was swiftly met with online backlash, with many coining it a βKaren moveβ since he essentially involved lawyers in a simple rap beef. Now, that move has earned him Charlamagneβs infamous βDonkey of the Dayβ designation.
βHeβs a hoe,β Charlamagne said plainly. βThis just lets me know Drake donβt understand culture. Because βNot Like Usβ is a cultural phenomenon and itβs very rare air for a song to become what βNot Like Usβ has become. It is a cultural identifier for a whole coast. One day, California is going to change their state motto to βNot Like Us.β Guaranteed.β
He continued:
βI told yβall Drake was going to file a lawsuit. I told you Drake was going to sue. He is a multi-billion dollar entity, no multi-billion dollar entity is going to allow you to call him a pedophile or sex offender and not take some sort of legal action. But hereβs the thing, the person who has the real defamation case in this situation is Kendrickβs woman [Whitney Alford], because Drake not only said Kendrick was beating on her he said that Dave Free, Kendrickβs business partner and friend, was the real father to one of Kendrickβs kids.β
Charlamagne went on to say that if anybody should be suing for defamation, it should be Kendrickβs fiancΓ© Alford and that Drake essentially shouldnβt be throwing stones while living in a glass house.
βIf youβre going to accuse somebody of defamation, you must first make sure you too arenβt guilty of defamation,β Charlamagne said. βDrake saying that Kendrick defamed him is indeed the pot calling the kettle beige, but thatβs not even why Iβm giving him donkey of the day. Iβm giving him donkey of the day because Drake is proving, without a shadow of a doubt, that he simply doesnβt understand culture.β
