Whoo, child... 2018 was a year, Honey. But if there’s one season we look forward to every year, it’s awards season (basically our Super Bowl), so we’re thrilled to be starting off the first Sunday of 2019 right with the 76th annual Golden Globes!

That’s right. Come Sunday at 6pm EST/3pm PST, we’ll be resuming our live red carpet coverage in The Glow Up’s Facebook group. Come join old and new virtual buddies while we kiki, comment, and critique the winners and losers of the night—starting with the fashion!

Oh, you haven’t joined our Facebook group yet? Good thing we gave you the heads-up. We wouldn’t want you to miss it, or the colorful and compassionate crew we fondly call our “Glow Up gang.”

So, what should we look forward to when the celebs hit the red carpet this year? Well, for one thing, decidedly less black—clothing, that is. As you may recall, last year’s ceremony was the first after the breakthrough of the #MeToo movement disrupted the entertainment industry, and the Globes attendees were encouraged to wear black in a show of solidarity with survivors. Most complied, and we also had the pleasure of seeing #MeToo founder, 2018 Root 100 honoree and friend of The Glow Up Tarana Burke, look dazzling on the Globes’ step-and-repeat, alongside past Best Actress winner Michelle Williams.

But while the carpet will hopefully be much more colorful this year, you can bet we will once again be rooting for everybody black, which this year includes our Black Panther baes (who will also be presenting); Regina the King, who is up for two statuettes this year; fellow Emmy winner Thandie Newton; first-time nominee Stephan James; potential first-time winner Spike Lee, and more!

The Root will have recaps on the red carpet and the winners on Monday morning, but you can enjoy the action with us live on Sunday night! You ready?
