Despite the limitations imposed on SB 1070 earlier this week, Arizona Sheriff Joe Apaio continues to go about the business of finding illegal immigrants. It seems that some parts of Arizona do not need SB 1070. Case in point: Maricopa Sheriff Joe Apaio of Phoenix has been conducting sweeps to address the busiest "illegal gateway" in the country for years. He routinely carries out sweeps, some in Hispanic neighborhoods, to arrest illegal immigrants. Sounds like racial profiling to us. Riddle me this: How are you going to call someone out for doing something illegal while possibly using illegal tactics to reprimand them? Who needs SB 1070 when you've got Sheriff Apaio?
