I’m not going to lie—I miss Anthony “Mucci Mane” Scaramucci. Sure, he was only in the White House as communications director long enough to microwave a Hot Pocket, but man, what a fantastic run he had. But at least Mucci Mane hasn’t gone into hiding; in fact, he won’t stop talking—or tweeting, as the case may be.

On Wednesday, Mucci Mane thought it made sense to compare Ryan Lizza, the New Yorker reporter he called, to Linda Tripp.
For those who don’t remember, Tripp was the woman at the center of the messy blow job scandal between then-President Bill Clinton and White House intern Monica Lewinsky. It was Tripp who befriended the then-22-year-old Lewinsky and secretly recorded private conversations, per the advice of her literary agent. Tripp then handed over the tapes for immunity from prosecution.
During his brief tenure in the White House, Mucci Mane thought it made sense to call a New Yorker reporter and spout all kinds of expletives in between bashing his colleagues. That phone call reportedly led to the demise of his White House career.
What does any of the Tripp-Lewinsky saga have to do with a White House communications director who was let go after his 10-day D-league contract expired? Nothing, but don’t tell Mucci Mane this. See, he believes that Tripp and Lizza acted in the same manner, except that Lizza didn’t befriend Mucci Mane. In fact, Lizza was chilling and minding his business when the tough-talking Italian American called him.

And then, as if this story couldn’t get any better, Lewinsky, the woman, the myth, the blue dress, herself tweeted:
I can’t make this stuff up, people. Also, well played, Ms. Lewinsky, well played. Mucci Mane will be making his first public appearance since leaving the White House on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert on Monday, and something tells me this is going to be messy.
