Itβs probably safe to say that Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter Leon Bridges is having a very good year. His acclaimed 2018 sophomore studio album Good Thing debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 charts, and heβs currently touring some of the most acclaimed venues in the country. Now, the vintage-obsessed singer is taking his style sense into a new arena with a limited-edition collaboration with eyewear brand Ahlem.

Ahlem, designed by CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund winner Ahlem Manai-Platt, has a vintage aesthetic complimentary to Bridgesβ own. Their capsule collection, Ahlem for Leon Bridges, is a line of retro-inspired sunglasses inspired by Good Thing, and is literally solid goldβframes, that is.
βIβm big on sunglasses,β Bridges told Vogue. βI love a lot of mostly retro, vintage sunglasses ... I really liked Ahlemβs aesthetic and what sheβs doing with her sunglasses: a bit of vintage in a modern vibe.β
As reported by Vogue:
The yellow-tinted shades are laser engraved with lyrics from Bridgesβs song βBad Bad News,β and the special packaging includes clip-on lenses, a vinyl edition of Bridgesβs album, and two hand-stitched leather-like cases.
The engraved lyric? βAlright, alright, all day all night.β
But owning a piece of Bridgesβ style wonβt come cheap: When the lenses become available on September 10, theyβll retail for $690βbecause, solid gold, yβall.
The best part? Seventy percent of the proceeds (thatβs $483 of every purchase) will go to Westminster Elementary in Venice, Calif., a magnet school focusing on math, science, technology and environmental studiesβwith a student body predominantly comprised of students of color.
But if you want to get philanthropic and fly, get your preorder on, because only 50 will be produced.
