Five North Carolina sheriff’s deputies have been suspended after they failed to arrest a Donald Trump supporter who was caught on video punching a black man as he was being escorted out of a Trump rally in Fayetteville, N.C.

According to the Associated Press, three deputies were demoted and suspended without pay for five days. The other two deputies were suspended for three days, with all five put on 12-month probation.
Cumberland County Sheriff Earl “Moose” Butler launched an investigation into the incident after viewing the video, which appears to show a man in a cowboy hat punching protester Rakeem Jones as deputies escorted Jones from the Crown Coliseum on March 9. According to the report, authorities said that the deputies didn’t witness the assault.
Police later arrested 78-year-old John McGraw, who was charged with assault and disorderly conduct.
