And of course, the internet subsequently went wild with speculation that despite a dating history (and centuries of English tradition) that might suggest otherwise, Harry has long been down with “the swirl”—even going as far as to vie for the prince in the next “Black Draft.”

Perhaps Prince Harry has always had great taste in women, but he ultimately married Markle. And coincidentally, it was recently announced that her now iconic Clare Waight Keller-designed wedding gown will soon be on display at Windsor Castle in England. The haute couture silk creation will be shown alongside a replica of Harry’s Blues and Royals uniform as part of a new exhibition titled, “A Royal Wedding: The Duke and Duchess of Sussex,” opening on October 26. Also on display for the first time will be Queen Mary’s diamond-and-platinum bandeau tiara, which was loaned to Markle by Queen Elizabeth for her wedding day.

And while she won’t be part of the exhibition, it’s kind of cute to consider that Halle may have subconsciously had a hand in influencing Meghan and Harry’s picture-perfect union. Who knows? Maybe his early crush took any traditional ideas of what an English princess bride should look like and put that thing down, flipped it and reversed it.
