Well, CNN anchor Don Lemon’s veritas got a bit personal after too much vino (or tequila shots, in this case).
Perhaps it was the weight of the year, perhaps it was because he and co-anchor Brooke Baldwin were in New Orleans. Whatever the case, Lemon was twisted at about 8 p.m.—or, as Lemon notes, “it’s 5 o’clock somewhere.” The time was about 3 hours and 15 minutes before the New Year.
With all this talk about network manipulation for ratings, perhaps the brass at CNN knew what they were doing by having the duo bring in the New Year at a bar. Lemon, according to Kathy Griffin, who was in Times Square with Anderson Cooper for CNN, said that Lemon had about “13 shots.” Below you can see him taking his 14th. Here, the time is at about an hour and 50 minutes from 2017.
By the time it was less than half an hour until the New Year, Lemon was certifiably ripped, and starting talking about how he’s ready for a relationship in 2017 but he’s kind of self-centered.
It also got weird when he started talking about nipple piercings or a tattoo, but he went for a fleur de lis ear piercing.
By the end of the night, Lemon was jumping up talkin’ ’bout a second line and waving a napkin. It’s lit!!!
Personally, Lemon seemed more likable after this. Or, as one Twitter user noted, I wanna party with Don in 2017!
