In a heated exchange about Jodi Kantor’s new book, The Obamas, Soledad O’Brien questioned the author on CNN’s Starting Point about how she could write a book about the inner workings of the Obamas’ marriage without having interviewed them.

The theme of the exchange was O’Brien’s inquiry, “So, you’d covered them, but you really hadn’t interviewed them since 2009.
