President Donald Trump didn’t waste any time fulfilling his campaign promise to remove the United States from the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP). On Monday sources confirmed to CNN that the newly minted president plans to sign an executive order to do just that.

Although the TPP was a bipartisan trade agreement that planned to promote economic growth, raise living standards and reduce property for the 12 participating Pacific rim countries. Although negotiated under former President Obama the trade agreement had not been ratified, and Trump claimed that it was a potential disaster that hurts the American workforce, according to Business Insider.
So his first executive action as president was to nix the United States involvement according to sources who spoke with CNN.
The news station notes that this is the first step in Trump’s plans to “radically reshape US trade policies.”
Trump also plans to meet union leaders and blue-collar workers several hours after signing the executive order, CNN reports.
