Something is different about this year’s Vanity Fair Hollywood issue cover, and it may have a lot to do with the array of brown faces staring out from the glossy pages.

This year, six black stars share the cover alongside six of their white counterparts, all stylishly attired and flawlessly done up.
Up-and-coming idols Lupita Nyong’o and Chiwetel Ejiofor are there, telling of the success of the critically acclaimed historical film 12 Years a Slave, in which both starred.
Michael B. Jordan, who brought the tragic tale of Oscar Grant to life in Fruitvale Station, is also there, along with 42’s Chadwick Boseman and the ever-talented Naomie Harris, who delivered as Winnie Mandela in Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom.
Last, but certainly not least, there’s Idris Elba, whose latest role had him as anti-apartheid icon Nelson Mandela in Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom.
The stars are joined by other seasoned veterans, such as Julia Roberts, George Clooney and Jared Leto, as well as newcomers Brie Larson (Short Term 12), Margot Robbie (The Wolf of Wall Street) and Léa Seydoux (Blue Is the Warmest Color).
