R&B singer Sevyn Streeter never got to perform the national anthem at the Philadelphia 76ers game Wednesday night, and it was because the jersey she was wearing read, “We Matter.”

Sixers guard Gerald Henderson said he figured something was going on when a cheerleader performed the anthem.
“There’s a lot going on man,” Henderson said. “People care about these things that are happening, as well as they should. And they are going to express themselves in different ways. … People are trying to make statements, I guess.”
