The No. 1 world seed defeated No. 4 Angelique Kerber on Saturday, 7-5, 6-3, to win Wimbledon and to tie Steffi Graf for the most career grand-slam wins with 22, reports The Guardian.

It is Williams’ seventh Wimbledon title, again tying with Graf for second all-time behind Martina Navratilova’s nine Wimbledon victories.

The Guardian notes that the win was hard-fought but that in the end, Williams’ serve was just too strong. Williams reportedly went 30 straight service games without facing a break point during the tournament.

“I had a couple of tries this year, I lost to two great opponents—one of them actually being Angelique,” Williams said after the match. “It makes the victory even sweeter to know how hard I worked for it.”
