The young man, identified as Kenan Davis, was found lying on the floor, AP notes. He had been taken into custody on Friday for violating parole.

A jail representative confirmed the death to AP, stating that an investigation is ongoing and adding that Correction Commissioner Joe Ponte sends his condolences to the boyโ€™s family.

AP notes that Davisโ€™ suicide is the second at the facility since the beginning of the year: Inmate Fabian Cruz, who was supposed to be on suicide watch, hanged himself on New Yearโ€™s Day.
