According to WTVR, Tanna Gardner, 23, was driving the car, which contained six other passengers, when the shooting happened. Gardner and a passenger, 26-year-old Sharayne Holland, were both killed. A man who was in the car with them, identified as Holland’s boyfriend, was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The report notes that the victims were out celebrating Gardner’s graduation from Virginia Union University the day before at a club in Richmond when their group got into a verbal altercation with another group, friends told the news station. When they left the club, the other group followed them, the friends said.
