"The Real Housewives of Potomac" is finally getting back to the exciting drama filled moments after the disappointing departures of a couple of our favorite housewives. PEOPLE confirmed the upcoming season will be more interesting as the OG castmate, Monique Samuels, announced her return. But, its not the return that we anticipated. We'll explain.

After Samuels' dramatic 2020 departure from RHOP, Samuels announced that she would be returning as a “friend of the show.” Most remember the spiraling effects that led to Samuel's exit, especially after the unforgettable catfight with Candiace Dillard-Bassett. The fight made headlines following the star sharing she was over reality television.
After leaving Potomac, Samuels joined the popular OWN show “Love and Marriage: DC" but departed after one season following her public split from Chris Samuels. After 11 years of marriage, the former couple settled their divorce in September 2023 and are currently co-parenting their three children together.
“Monique's in a totally different place now, and fans will see that," a source shared with PEOPLE. "She’s excited to show who she is now — not as a wife, not as just a mom, but as a woman starting over and taking on life on her own terms."
Production is in motion in Maryland with the returning cast members: Gizelle Bryant, Dr. Wendy Osefo, Keirana Stewart, and Stacey Rusch. With the Grand Dame Karen Huger, serving out her prison sentence, this return is exactly what the show is missing. Social media is excited to see what drama Samuels will bring to the new season, marking this as “the best season ever”.
