According to the New York Daily News, Meeks, 30, "was arrested during a gang sweep June 18 for gun possession in Stockton, Calif." Since he had already served time in 2002 for grand theft, this most recent charge could have landed the "model" prisoner up to 10 years in the pokey.

On Thursday a federal judge sentenced Meeks to more than two years in prison and ordered that he take part in a substance-abuse program.

Meeks was in prison when his mug shot photo, which was posted to the Stockton Police Department's Facebook page, went viral. According to the Daily News, Meeks' photo garnered some "100,000 likes, 12,800 shares and nearly 27,000 comments."

Meeks, who was interviewed by a news station shortly after his arrest, was shocked by his newfound fame but also told his supporters not to lose sight of the serious time he was facing.

That prison time didn't scare away at least two Hollywood agents, who, the Daily News notes, signed the inmate to deals they believe could land Meeks as much as $30,000 to $100,000 a month. There is even talk about a possible reality show.

But all of that will have to wait until Meeks finishes his time behind bars.
