Acting Essex County, N.J., Prosecutor Carolyn Murray said Sunday that Wheeler-Weaver had been charged with murder in the death of 33-year-old Joanne Brown. Brown was last seen Oct. 22. Her body was found Dec. 5 at a vacant house in Orange, N.J. She was apparently strangled and killed in the house.

According to CBS News, Wheeler-Weaver recently pleaded not guilty to the murder of Sarah Butler, a 20-year-old New Jersey City University student who was strangled over the Thanksgiving holiday. Wheeler-Weaver was arrested for her murder Dec. 6.

It is unclear what the connection between Wheeler-Weaver and Brown was, but prosecutors say that Wheeler-Weaver and Butler were acquaintances.

In lieu of $5 million bail, Wheeler-Weaver remained in jail Monday. It is unclear whether he has an attorney.
