"I don't really remember if Salaam, who was really close to her, who introduced us, if he told me about it or not," Nas told XXL. "I don't remember right now. But I heard a lot about it before I even heard the song."

He also says that "Mr. Destiny, 9 and 14" references his daughter, Destiny, and the Sept. 14 birth date he shared with Winehouse.

Most fans who followed these stars closely aren't at all shocked by the news. Besides the rumors about Winehouse's crush on Nas, the two were planning a joint birthday celebration before the singer's untimely death. Of course, the heartbroken lyrics and references to "my man" in the song raise even more questions about the exact nature of their relationship, but Nas isn't talking about that โ€ฆ yet.
