A 19-year-old Northwest Missouri State University student charged with making terrorist threats against black people on that campus appeared in court Tuesday and was later released on bond, his attorney confirmed, Reuters reports.

Connor Stottlemyre is one of three men arrested last week because of threats they allegedly made against black students on social media. Stottlemyre’s bond was set at $10,000. The Blue Springs, Mo., resident reportedly used Yik Yak, an anonymous social messaging app, to make threats against black students at his school mere days after the University of Missouri’s president resigned after backlash over his handling of racial issues on campus. A similar threat at Mizzou followed Tim Wolfe’s resignation, prompting fear around campus.
According to the complaint against Stottlemyre, last Wednesday he threated to “shoot any black people … so be ready.” He also allegedly posted, “I love evil, I can’t wait for Northwest to make the news tomorrow.”
Last week, 19-year-old Hunter M. Park also was charged with making terrorist threats after allegedly posting to Yik Yak that he would shoot any black person on Mizzou’s Columbia, Mo., campus.
And Michael Allen Shultz, a 21-year-old Michigan Technological University, is out on bond after being accused of making social media threats against black students at his school.
