A New Orleans man who was indicted in the shooting of a Tulane University medical student has now been charged with kidnapping and raping a couple, the Associated Press reports

According to the report, video and DNA evidence links Euric Cain to the couple’s kidnapping and rape, less than 24 hours after Cain reportedly shot student Peter Gold in the stomach. Gold survived the shooting.

Cain, who was already jailed after being indicted in Gold’s attack, was booked Wednesday on counts of rape, kidnapping, armed robbery and carjacking.

Arrest documents note that a man and a woman were getting into a parked car last month when an armed suspect got in and demanded their money. The suspect then told the woman to drive to a parking lot, where the two were sexually assaulted.

Cain’s bond has since been increased to $7 million.
