While we're worrying about illegal immigration, some people in Minnesota, Alabama and California have been aiding a Somali terrorist group. The Justice Department charged 14 people with aiding the radical Islamist al-Shabab organization in Somalia. Two were arrested Thursday, and the others are fugitives and believed to be overseas. Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr. said the charges reflect a disturbing trend in which al-Shabab, which has links to Osama bin Laden's al-Qaeda terrorist network, has appealed to U.S. citizens of Somali descent to join the group's battle against a weak U.S.-backed transitional government and African Union peacekeeping forces in Somalia. He also said that there is currently no direct evidence that al-Shabab is threatening the United States. Not yet, at least. Talk about focusing on the wrong thing. Why worry about so-called anchor babies when terrorists are living next door?
