Since the news of their relationship first made headlines in 2023, we’ve heard from both Jonathan Majors and his wife Meagan Good about how their love story came to be. Now, we’re finally hearing from the other important woman in Majors’ life: his mother, Terri Anderson-Watson.

The couple and Anderson-Watson all sat down for a new interview on “The Tamron Hall Show” on Thursday (Sept. 11). During their chat, Majors’ mother discussed the “challenging position” she found herself in with being a pastor, a counselor to her son and Good before their eventual marriage and mother witnessing a son go through a tough legal and professional battle.
As you well know by now, the “Creed III” star was found guilty of one count of reckless assault in the third degree and harassment in December 2023. As a result of his accusations and convictions, his Hollywood career came to a swift halt as numerous projects were taken from him and many in the industry opted to keep their distance as things played out.
But there were at least two people who stuck by his side: Good and Anderson-Watson. And the latter is finally speaking her peace about how she helped them get through it all and get them ready to walk down the aisle as one unit in the midst of all the chaos.
“As the pastor, I was concerned about their spiritual position in marriage. Right? Because this was a vow they were making before God, it had to be for real, it had to be deep and it had to be lasting,” she explained to Hall. “So they actually went through counseling before they went to go get their marriage license in Texas. They actually started with me, they went through sessions and they were sure.”
Hall then asked Anderson-Watson if Majors was still “recognizable” as the son she’d always know when all the assault allegations and later convictions, hit the fan. Her answer was overwhelmingly yes as she went on to share that even while he was going through his issues, he was more of a comfort to her instead of the opposite.
Anderson-Watson also detailed how Good showed her that she was the right person for her son during his tough period.
“I know him, I know him. So when I married them, I knew that they were ready,” Majors’ mom explained. “From the moment I met Meagan and she came as his friend and handed me anointing oil as I prayed for him and then took this man–as a friend–in her arms and held his head in her hands and cried and prayed with him. I was like God, you’re working something out. Because it’s not about what’s happening, right, it’s not about what’s happening around him. It’s what God was doing in him.”
But while the interview may have been somewhat inspirational and touching, viewers watching felt like Hall’s energy was a bit…off. In fact, they felt she was so off that it could be felt through the screen.
“Tamron feels a way and she can’t hide it,” wrote one user on YouTube.
“Tamron is so cold in this interview. It’s strange. As a viewer, I was so uncomfortable. I can only imagine how Meagan and Jonathan felt,” said another.
Other people on social media didn’t let that deter them from reveling in Majors’ mom’s words and the positive relationship between all of them.
“Mama sealed it for me. I wasn’t really feeling them together but if she believes then who am I? Black love it beautiful,” said one user on Instagram.
Added another, “His mom just won me over, what a beautiful woman and what a bright soul she has.”
