Perhaps the editors took note of readers’ disappointment with the “exclusionary” choices. This year’s cover is much less monochromatic. Check out Anthony Mackie and Rashida Jones accompanying celebs like Anne Hathaway, James Franco, Ryan Reynolds and Jake Gyllenhaal.

Since Vanity Fair seems to be open to input, may we suggest exploring the idea of featuring a black actor on the front (versus side, pull-out) panel one of these years? Just something to think about.
