More than 1,100 guests were in attendance as champagne flowed, DJs spinned and the band played to honor President Obama’s second swearing-in. Actors, activists, politicians and other notables graced our trademark green carpet — including The Root Editor-in-Chief Henry Louis Gates Jr., comedian Chris Tucker and U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder — to share their thoughts on President Obama’s legacy.

“Four years from now, and 50 years from now, people will think he was a great president,” Holder said.
