According to an RTV6 report, the Plainfield Police Department was taking a transgender-awareness training seminar sponsored by the U.S. Department of Justice along with city officials, the prosecutorโs office, local schools and county officials. During the training, a brave white policeman dared to ask the tough questions, namely: If he doesnโt specifically know anyone whoโs been abused by a cop, then how could police violence possibly be a problem?
โMy life has never been part of police violence,โ the officer asked Caucasianally. โMost people that I know have never accused the police of violence. So I guess I donโt get where that statistic comes from.โ
Thatโs when Police Capt. Carri Weber interrupted the man, attacking him, the police officers and all white people with a brutal, hateful onslaught of logic and reason. โBecause of your white male privilege, so you wouldnโt know,โ Weber says.
Befuddled by her response, the man said, โIโm sorry?โ and Weber repeated herself with a second flurry of her terroristic truth telling
โBecause of your white male privilege,โ Weber repeated.
โChief, are you going to let her get away with that?โ one cop exclaimed as his fellow officers erupted in simultaneous butt-hurtedness. โSeriously? Iโm asking a legitimate question and Iโm getting [unintelligible] white privilege? Are you serious? I find that extremely offensive ... I will leave.โ
The man later filed a complaint with the Police Department, explaining the validity of his white tears.
I was racially and sexistly slurred by Captain Carri Weber while I was asking a question of the instructor in training. I am now firmly aware of the discriminatory belief she just verbally communicated. ... There is no place in the Plainfield Police administration or supervision for someone who holds and espouses her discriminatory views.
Just like white people ... always playing the race card. Why canโt they stop being victims?
To the gentlemanโs credit, he does make a lot of sense. Iโve never been to the moon, so why should I believe all this bullshit they keep feeding me about solar energy? Sure, I can see it if I tried to look, read about it in books or listen to experts, but can I really know it exists? And if someone tells me about it, I find that very offensive.
In response, Plainfield Deputy Town Manager Tony Perona said that the city officials voted to place Weber on administrative leave until they vote on her future with the Police Departmentโor, alternatively, until they can figure out what this mythical โwhite male privilegeโ thing is that she keeps talking about.
As a matter of fact, thatโs the stance Iโm taking on everything from now on. If I have never experienced something, then it doesnโt exist. And if someone tries to explain it to me, theyโre being racist or sexist. Because of my newly held belief system, Iโd like to announce that I no longer believe in:
dunking a basketball
cuddling with Rihanna
Yankee fans who arenโt assholes
bottle service
equality
Also, we here at The Root send our deepest condolences to the brave men and women of the Plainfield, Ind., Police Department who experienced this violence. Thoughts and prayers.
Never forget.
