Good News For Bronny James Following His Cardiac Arrest

The James family released a statement updating the public about his condition.

After a shocking cardiac arrest episode during a preseason practice in July, Bronny James has been cleared to make a full return to basketball. Per The Athletic, James will start exercising with the Trojans next week.

In addition, he may be able to return to games right after. The James family released the following statement about his condition:

β€œBronny James is now cleared by his doctors for a full return to basketball. Bronny will have a final evaluation with USC staff this week, resume practice next week, and return to games soon after. The James family would like to express their gratitude to the incredible medical team, the entire USC community, and especially the countless friends, family, and fans for their love and support. Fight on!”

Recently, Bronny’s father LeBron James shared an update about his son’s health. β€œBronny is doing extremely well. He has begun his rehab process to get back on the floor this season with his teammates at USC,” he stated.

β€œThe successful surgery that he had…He’s on the up and up. It’s definitely a whirlwind and a lot of emotions for our family this summer, but the best thing we have is each other.”

On July 24, Bronny collapsed on the court during an on-campus workout. A congenital heart defect was identified as the probable reason for hisΒ cardiac arrest. He was treated by medical professionals and admitted to the ICU.

A James family spokesperson confirmed the incident and thanked hospital workers for support. β€œHe is now in stable condition and no longer in ICU,” the statement read.

β€œLeBron and Savannah wish to publicly send their deepest thanks and appreciation to the USC medical and athletic staff for their incredible work and dedication to the safety of their athletes.”
