I get the feeling that the WNBA is going to look back and be mad that it gave this attention.

Paying any dust to Gilbert Arenas’ inappropriate comments about how WNBA players are not physically attractive is pointless. Yep, Arenas got on Instagram and slammed the league’s looks, saying that WNBA players are “a bunch of chicks running around looking like … cast members from #orangeisthenewblack.”

He posted a video of two women playing basketball (with their asses hanging out) and said that the women’s league ought to follow suit if it wants to fill stadium seats.

The WNBA responded, saying that Arenas’ comments were “repugnant, utterly disrespectful and flat-out wrong.” WNBA players “should be celebrated for their accomplishments and not disparaged with ignorant insults,” the statement continued.

Arenas ought to have more respect and kindness for his female counterparts in his profession.
