Monica Kendrick told WSB-TV that the Kids R Kids day care in Stockbridge, Ga., allows parents to look in on their kids using online access to cameras placed throughout the facility. Kendrick was shocked when she logged in to see a day care worker spraying her child in the face with an aerosol spray from a can.

“She went from one child that was sitting on the floor to my son that was standing right behind them and sprayed it in their faces,” Kendrick told WSB-TV.

Kendrick raced to the school to get her son and inform administrators about what she had just witnessed. She told the news station that they watched the footage and confirmed that the incident had happened, but what happened next floored Kendrick.

She claims that the day care center’s only discipline of the assistant teacher was to tell her “that she couldn’t do that anymore.”

Kendrick, reading from the back of a bottle of air freshener, noted, “Intentional misuse by deliberately concentrating and inhaling the contents can be harmful or fatal.” Kendrick added that the woman, who had already been reprimanded for waking a child with her foot, should have been fired.

She told the news station that she has taken her son out of the day care center but added that she has contacted the Division of Family and Children Services and other state agencies to investigate the incident.
