James Larry Robinson Jr., 36, was arrested without incident Tuesday. He was also fired from the Riverdale police force the same day.

According to the news station, Robinson, of Jonesboro, was to transfer the woman from the Riverdale Police Department to the Clayton County Jail. The alleged victim claims that during the recent ride, Robinson pulled alongside an empty building that is next to a tire shop and sexually assaulted her.

Employees at the tire shop told the news station that after the woman was released from jail, she returned to the business to get footage from the security cameras.

Robinson has been charged with rape and sexual assault against a person in custody. He is being held in the Clayton County Jail without bond.
