The first lady seems to be making it a point to visit historically black colleges and universities: In 2011 she spoke at Spelman, and in 2010 she addressed the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff. And both she and the president have recognized the important contributions of HBCUs and have publicly recognized their successes.

This year the rest of her commencement-addresses schedule includes Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Virginia Tech), North Carolina Agriculture and Technical State University (North Carolina A&T) and Oregon State University.
