The second-eldest son of Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump seems to have broken the law Tuesday when he tweeted a photo of his ballot showing that he voted for his father in the presidential election.

Eric Trump, 32, posted the photo of his ballot with the caption, “It is an incredible honor to vote for my father! He will do such a great job for the U.S.A! #MakeAmericaGreatAgain.”
In New York, where Eric Trump voted, ballot selfies are illegal, as they are in Alabama, Alaska, California, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Kansas, Massachusetts, Michigan, Mississippi, Nevada, New Jersey, New Mexico, North Carolina, South Carolina, South Dakota and Wisconsin.
A debate on the issue of ballot selfies in Colorado led to a federal judge ruling Friday that a ban on ballot selfies cannot be enforced in that state, according to the Associated Press.
As for Eric Trump, his selfie could cost him a fine of $1,000 and a year in jail. Perhaps hoping to avoid a penalty, he deleted the apparently lawbreaking tweet from his timeline, but as everyone knows, screenshots are forever, and reports of his tweet are all over the internet.
Whether or not any action will be taken against him remains to be seen.
