Authorities say that the incident, which happened last week, started when 27-year-old Caleb Russell tried to flirt with a woman on a Chicago Transit Authority Bus.

Russell reportedly became angry when the woman did not respond to him when he tried to talk to her and allegedly started hitting her with the bag of chicken.

When the bus driver stopped the bus and tried to intervene, Russell allegedly swung the bag at the driver, hitting him in the face and causing serious injuries.

The bus driver suffered a broken nose and jaw and also lost a tooth.

The woman who did not want to be identified said she was not seriously hurt in the incident.

Russell is facing charges of misdemeanor battery and felony aggravated battery against a transit employee and is being held on a $100,000 bond.
