We all first got a clue that something was going on when footage of the “Dreams and Nightmares” rapper began circulating on social media on Saturday (Nov.1). In it, he and three other men could be seen surrounded by several police officers. Mill himself was handcuffed and appeared calm yet concerned while others were filming.

At a certain point, Mill could be heard saying: “While the cameras rolling, this the levels that you go through when you young and Black.”

Later, per a police spokesperson who talked to “The Breakfast Club’s” Loren Lorosa, they confirmed that the officers responded to Harbor Nightclub after they received “reports of a male with a firearm in a vehicle.” That’s when they stopped Mill and the two other men, noting that they matched the description and then searched the car that Mill was associated with. However, since they found no gun, they closed their investigation and later freed Mill.

According to the New York Post, this whole incident was spawned by a bouncer who thought he felt a gun on the “Championships” rapper and subsequently told him to get rid of it. After Mill went to go throw something in his car and tried to come back, that’s when local authorities were tipped off.

In a series of followup posts to X/Twitter talking about the incident, Mill posted:

“They just pulled me out the car and cuffed me in front of the whole club embarrassed the shit out of me in nyc ! I’m not scared to go outside without a gun … they had guns in my face for no reason smh I thought it was a prank,” he said.

He later added: “They tryna get me ……..”

Even though the incident didn’t escalate into violent territory, that didn’t stop his fans from getting irate over the ordeal in the first place.

“Sendinglove Meek way because they stay on his case for no reason,” wrote on user on Instagram.

“Y’all laughing they might be really trying to get that nigga,” said another.

“Damn! This is never a laughing matter. Stay safe Meek!!,” wrote one user.

Added another: “It’s kee kee ha ha until it’s one of your family members. None of this is funny.”

Over on TikTok, one person wrote, “They always bothering him.”

One other user questioned, “What’s going on with the NYPD why they on Meek so heavy when he there?”
