White House, US Capitol on Lockdown After Officer Shot in Visitors Area

The Associated Press is reporting that shots have been fired inside the U.S. Capitol, leaving one officer wounded. Workers inside the Capitol have been ushered to safe places inside the Capitol. Both the Capitol and the White House, which was hosting the annual Easter Egg Roll, are on lockdown.

According to AP, the officer’s injuries are not life-threatening, and the alleged shooter has been taken into custody.
