That’s exactly what Brian Earl Taylor, 21, did before being sentenced last week in a Michigan court for unlawful imprisonment and carrying a concealed weapon.

According to Ann Arbor News, Taylor belted out a song that was reminiscent of Adele’s “Helllo.” In it he apologized to the judge, his victim and his family in front of Washtenaw County Trial Court Judge Darlene O’Brien.

“Hello there, your honor,” Taylor sang. “I want to say I’m sorry for the things I’ve done and I’ll try and be stronger in this life I chose, but I want you to know that door, I closed. And your honor I’m sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry.”

The judge sentenced Taylor to two years in prison for illegally carrying a concealed weapon and 18 months to 15 years for unlawful imprisonment. Taylor has another court date coming up on March 24 for stealing or retaining a financial-transaction device without consent.
