Iman Tayla Shumpert Jr. was born Wednesday at 6:42 a.m. after Taylor went into labor before her mid-January due date. The couple didn’t even have time to go to the hospital.

“We were indeed terrified until I finally saw her hair … then the fear left and i kinda just knew what to do! Our bathroom is forever sacred,” Shumpert wrote on Instagram. “People always tell me there is no greater gift than fatherhood and I finally understand the feeling. I’m not too proud to say I cried endless tears of joy for my first born. Thank you @teyanataylor for this gift and for turning our houses to homes, you are truly special in every aspect!”

He then sang a ditty to his daughter.

Shumpert, who is dealing with a right groin strain, will likely play in Sunday’s home game against the Philadelphia 76ers.
