According to a joint post to Instagram by the “U Don’t Have to Call” and “Residuals” singers, the two will be embarking on an “R&B” tour soon. The name is a marketing win as it stands for both the genre of music the two have been unintentionally vying for the top spot in for years now, and the first letters of their last names.
But before you shell out your coins and pick out your outfits, just know that no official dates have been set yet. We don’t know if it’ll be a US and international tour, when it starts or how long it will last. What we do know, however, is that this is going to be a tour for the books! People have been asking for Usher and Breezy to do a VERZUZ since VERZUZ began, and they wouldn’t. Now, fans are going to get something way better, and trust us when we say, we’ll be in the building when it happens!
After seeing the news, it’s safe to say that we aren’t the only ones looking forward to the crazy good show that’s to come from these two singers. Judging by the swift reactions from music lovers on social media expressing their excitement, this tour is going to be “one of them ones,” as the kids say!
“Chris Brown and Usher tour bout to break records,” wrote one user on X/Twitter.
“Chris Brown and Usher Tour is like R&B version of Watch The Throne,” said another, referencing the monumental 2011 joint album from Jay-Z & Kanye West.
Other fans are already looking at their books to see how they’ll pay for the tickets when they officially go on sale.
Over on Instagram, one user wrote: “Just paid my credit cards off and I said I wasn’t going to touch them again. Nevermind, I take that back.”
Added another: “My landlord is just going to have to understand.”
One other person offered up a more in-depth take, writing on X/Twitter: “Usher and Breezy doing a joint tour is smart. It’s the Verzuz everyone has been wanting but they’re gonna make crazy money off of it. Also, Usher may give the best performances of his life. This is like if Ush and Bobby Brown toured together. It’s competition and legacy.”
